چکیده

The frequency dependence of third-harmonic medium amplitude oscillatory shear (MAOS) modulus $G_{33}^{*}(\omega)$ provides insight into material behavior and microstructure in the asymptotically nonlinear regime. Motivated by difficulty measurement MAOS moduli, we propose a test for data validation based on Kramers-Kronig relations. We extend approach used to assess consistency linear viscoelastic expressing real imaginary parts as combination Maxwell elements: functional form kernels is inspired time-strain separability (TSS). statistical fitting technique called SMEL test, which works well broad range materials models including those that do not obey TSS. It successfully copes with experimental are noisy, or confined limited range. When modes obtained from predict first-harmonic $G_{31}^{*}$, it possible identify timescales over exhibits

Shear viscosity and nonlinear behavior of whole blood under large amplitude oscillatory shear.

We investigated experimentally the rheological behavior of whole human blood subjected to large amplitude oscillatory shear under strain control to assess its nonlinear viscoelastic response. In these rheological tests, the shear stress response presented higher harmonic contributions, revealing the nonlinear behavior of human blood that is associated with changes in its internal microstructure...

Dynamic Shear Rheology of Thixotropic Suspensions: Comparison of Structure-Based Models with Large Amplitude Oscillatory Shear Experiments

Rheological measurements on a model thixotropic suspension developed by Dullaert and Mewis are performed, including large amplitude oscillatory shear (LAOS) flow, shear flow reversal, and a novel unidirectional LAOS flow, to provide an extended rheological data set for testing constitutive models. A new structure-based model is developed by improving the elastic stress component in the Delaware...

Rheology of concentrated xanthan gum solutions: Oscillatory shear flow behavior

Using a strain-controlled rheometer, the dynamic viscoelastic properties of aqueous xanthan gum solutions with different concentrations were measured over a wide range of strain amplitudes and then the linear viscoelastic behavior in small amplitude oscillatory shear flow fields was investigated over a broad range of angular frequencies. In this article, both the strain amplitude and concentrat...

Assessment of UVA-Riboflavin Corneal Cross-Linking Using Small Amplitude Oscillatory Shear Measurements.

PURPOSE The effect of ultraviolet (UV)-riboflavin cross-linking (CXL) has been measured primarily using the strip extensometry technique. We propose a simple and reliable methodology for the assessment of CXL treatment by using an established rheologic protocol based on small amplitude oscillatory shear (SAOS) measurements. It provides information on the average cross-link density and the elast...
